The McGill Track
Open to students from all McGill faculties, the McGill Track allows teams to register and compete using the same global case—but within a separate prize pool and judging stream. Following a first-round evaluation, five McGill teams will be selected to present in person at the finals. One will be crowned McGill Champions and invited to showcase their proposal alongside global finalists during the final event weekend. Please note: McGill Track prizes are independent of the global MIPC prize pool. This new track offers McGill students a unique opportunity to develop and present innovative investment strategies in front of Canada’s leading pension funds and asset managers.
What is MIPC?
Each year, hundreds of students from around the world compete in the McGill International Portfolio Challenge (MIPC), either in-person at McGill University or online, in a Grand Challenge designed to tackle pertinent socio-economic issues. Participants develop innovative portfolio strategies that address the needs of a broad range of stakeholders, putting their financial acumen and problem-solving skills to the test. Teams present their solutions to a panel of industry leaders from Canada’s top pension funds and asset managers, who provide invaluable feedback and bridge the gap between academia and industry. The MIPC continues to serve as a premier platform for fostering the next generation of finance professionals, equipping students with real-world insights and connections to advance their careers.
